Katie's First Date?

Today is the day. After a few loooooooooooooooong years of study, today she will get a piece of paper that says she has earned a degree in Social Science.

I'M SOOOOOOOO PROUD OF HER!

And...to top things off...she just got a call. A call from Adam. Adam is a Christian man who runs a youth program at a church in a nearby town. They have not yet met, but it's coming close to time. A matchmaking effort has been made by some friends of Katie's from soccer, and these people know Adam. They felt that these two persons may be a match! They have been sharing with Adam about Katie and with Katie about Adam. Both are interested to meet the other, and it's been humorous to wait for someone to make the first move. Katie insisted that the man make the move, so yesterday he did. She recieved an email from him. It seems it may be a God ordained arrangement...but we will see.

Tiff answered the phone and brought it to Katie and said with a giant smile "Iiitt'ss Aaaaaadaaaaaaammmmmm" and Katie about had a heart attack right then and there as she stood in front of the mirror playing with her hair to get it to set just right. She's trying to make it perfect so it will work with her graduation cap. Well, the kids and I quickly exited the room so she could talk to him. This is their first conversation! The kids and I were excited too, so we tried to stay out of sight, but couldn't resist eavesdropping from just outside the door. It's like in the movies with three heads popping out from around the corner to watch what was going on. Katie was all aglow and we were all smiling at the event unfolding.

We were obviously not very secretive about our "covert" operation and became quite a distraction to Katie. She started to head our direction and we scattered like roaches in the light. Justin took cover behind the bar in the kitchen, Tiff hid around a corner and I ran into the living room and hid there. We were all giggling like little school girls! LOL

When Katie reached the top of the stair from her room, she shut the door and then the three of us, the kids and I, rushed back to the door to listen. It was all in fun and Katie was laughing at us. It looks like the face-to-face meeting won't happen until sometime next week, because both are busy with graduation stuff this weekend. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Katie is very nervous, and cautious, about relationships. She will be wise and discerning, and I know she will follow God's will for her life. Pray for her today! Today might be the "first date"!
