Good news...I saved all the important things I needed before I reformatted.
Bad news...I apparantly am not the amateur techie I thought I was because I didn't save things correctly and lost the majority of my documents and all the pictures stored on the hard drive.
Bummer.
Oh well, it's like starting all over again with a new computer!
